Our team devotional tonight was on Ezra 3:10-12. In this passage, the temple is getting rebuilt. But the thing that we keyed in on was in the passage talking about the foundation of the temple.
Today, we worked on one of our main projects this week, the house that we are helping to remodel. It too, has a strong foundation. Most of the buildings here are completely built with concrete floors walls and roof. But while we are doing physical project in this house, we truly are building another foundation. We couldn’t help but ask ourselves, how is the foundation in Christ that we are helping to build this week going to impact the kingdom of God long after we leave Quito?
Community Church, You are every much a part of this mission as we are. Through prayers and support you guys have allowed us to come into this physical building. Yet you also are helping to build a foundation that will last for years to come.
The owner of the house, Carmen, has thanked God over and over for the work that is being done. She has always said that her house is God’s house and continues to use it for His purposes. From having youth group sleepovers of 30 kids or more, to making a meal for those who are hungry. Our work here will not only be used to further those purposes, but it glorifies Him. And once again, you are a part of that.
We are so excited to come back and tell you what God has done throughout this trip. Continue to pray that no matter what things we encounter this week or who we encounter this week, that God’s will be done. Pray for safety, good health, but most importantly, no matter what, His purposes are made known this week and long after we leave.
