Today we were able to enjoy worshiping our God at the church of Darrell and Sondra. Darrell gave the message. Worshiping God in a church where you know little of the language is an amazing thing. While there may be a language barrier, we were all worshiping the same amazing God! Everyone in that church was pouring their hearts out and praising God. It doesn’t matter the language you speak or the word you comprehend when it comes to worshiping God. It’s about your heart, and giving your all for God. Our God is definitely a global God. This only is solidified more when cultures come together to worship Him.
On another note, today also was a day of exploring. After church, we went to a local park and got to experience Ecuadorian ice cream, which would rival any ice cream up in Wisconsin. Which is saying a lot coming from me.
We had a great time having lunch with Carmen, her family and many other family members from the church at Carmen’s house. We visited for a couple of hours. It was their way of thanking us. We were all amazed at her willingness to serve us a meal even though her house was under construction and half of the house’s water was turned off.
After that we went to Darrell and Sandra’s house and visited with them and swam in a pool at their apartment complex with Verito’s kids. It was quite cold! But an enjoyable rest.
From there we went out for dinner to a local Ecuadorian restaurant. The food has been quite delicious.
Tomorrow, we start work again on the house. We are excited to get back at the job and task at hand. Please keep us in your prayers for continued health, safety and most importantly that God will be glorified through us.
It’s getting late and we have a long day of work tomorrow so more pictures will be posted soon.
